What Are You Doing Now?

Beloved of God,

A few days ago I received a text message from an old friend and fellowship member whom I haven’t seen or heard from in some months. He asked me, “what are you doing now?”.

I said to myself, “I am somewhere”.

Then I heard a voice asking me, “Doing what?”.

I said, “I am somewhere, working for my Lord. I am somewhere preaching the gospel. I am somewhere sharing the good news of His saving Grace. I am somewhere, reaching out to the lonely, the oppressed, the unsaved,  the hungry, one person at a time”.

While still pondering over the question, this song came to mind…

Brothers and sisters, God has called everyone of us to the highways, to the hedges, to the inner-cities, and to our places of influence. If you haven’t answered Him, this is the time to do so. Don’t allow the color of your robe be a hindrance. Don’t allow your job to be a hindrance. God has placed you where you are right now for such a time as this! Make each moment count!!

Time is running out! Now is the accepted time. It may never be this way again. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. To some, eternity will come today. So why do you want to wait for more people to perish?
When the Holy Spirit puts that burden on you don’t let it go. You must get to work quickly because there is no time. People do take out time from work to smoke. What do you take out time to do? Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV) says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving”.

Get to work for the Lord. The time is short. Get ready for it. You don’t have to travel far. Preach the Gospel right from where you are. Show people the love and grace of God. You are not to work for their salvation, it has already been done and consummated.

Never give up! Don’t lose sight of the task ahead of you. God is your rewarder. You must work at whatever you do as if you are working for the Lord. Favour finds the faithful. Ruth was working when Boaz found her. What are you doing for The Lord? Be steadfast and be unmoved by your situation or whatever it is that is going on in the world. Keep working for the Lord.

As you continue to work for the Lord from wherever level you are, I pray that God will multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness; that He will make all grace (every favour and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation] (2nd Corinthians 9:10, 2nd Corinthians 9:8).

Be blessed in the Lord’s Grace.
