Victory Is Assured

Beloved of God,

Your situation is not causing God to have sleepless nights. Your situation is not new to God. Your circumstances are not there to kill you. They are not there to defeat you either. They are there for you to demonstrate the character of His Spirit in you. They are there for you to demonstrate your faith in His Word. Everything that has ever happened to you and everything that is happening to you right now are all happening for a reason.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (TLB) says, “NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, always be thankful, for this is GOD’S WILL for you who belong to Christ Jesus”.
Your situation might not look like it is the will of God. That marital issue, divorce or separation might not look like it is the will of God. Everything around you might be saying, “you’re finished”. But you are not! Isaiah 54:17 (CEV) says, “Weapons made to attack you WON’T be successful; words spoken against you WON’T hurt at all… I, the LORD, promise to bless you with victory”.

Stop having sleepless nights over that situation. What you’re stressing about right now, God has already worked it out. His plans for you are for good, not for evil, to give you hope and a future. Learn to always tell your situation, “I am of God therefore I walk in victory. I can never be defeated. All things, including you (name your situation), are working together for my good”.

Today is a new day to look at that situation differently. Don’t allow fear to cripple your faith in Him. Fear is the cancer to faith! Don’t allow the enemy to have any place in your mind. Rise up in faith and cast out every thought that doesn’t line up with God’s Word because everything happens for a reason.

In Him,
Ali Papa.

  1. Your situation might not look like it is the will of God….. and that is because it is was not the will of God, He does not willingly allow Evil or does He afflict us but yes He will give us His Strength to endure when Satan or life brings suffering or hardship.

Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the Children of Men.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression you will not be burned up the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God The Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

You said Ali Papa that everything that has ever happened to us and everything that is happening to us right now are all happening for a reason.

Please explain than why God wanted me to be molested by 5 different Men from the age of 3 the last one a Doctor who tricked me into having an Abortion and than raped me later when I was not yet 15 or why God wanted my 7 babies to die or my first husband to repeatedly bash and torture me even when I was pregnant etc

You cannot confirm with Scripture what you are propagating for us as Christians, yes we will reap the evil we sow until we repent and turn from evil and Satan who won the right at the fall will also put us to the test as he did Jesus, Job, Paul, Peter etc, and Jesus tells us when we follow Him we will be hated and persecuted by unbelievers and even by some in the Church and that some of us will be Martyred but it is not God’s will for us to suffer and have hardship or does He plan it for us but yes He will work everything for good in our lives.

    In Christ’s Name – Anne.

    • Dear Anne,

I am sorry to hear about how you were “molested by 5 different men from the age of 3 the last one a Doctor who tricked” you “into having an abortion and then raped” you later when you were “not yet 15”. It’s difficult for anyone to understand the pain you have been through watching 7 of your babies die one after the other. And no one is qualified to question your judgement who hasn’t walked in your shoes and in a marriage where your first husband repeatedly bashed and torture you even when you were pregnant.

I’m aware of situations like yours and that was why I said in my post, “your situation might not look like it is the will of God”. How do you I explain to you that God wanted you to go through all these most expecially when your reference scripture, Lamentations 3:33 says, For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the Children of Men.

I want you to understand that Lamentations 3:33 was a testimony of a man who had been through a “blessed mess” just like you and I. He didn’t just woke up in Lamentations 3:33 to say that God cannot afflict him willingly, he only came to a realisation at that point that things were working together for his good.

Let’s here this same man tell us his story from verse one:

He said in Lamentations 3:1-20, 33 (CEV), “I have suffered much because God was angry. 2 He chased me into a dark place, where no light could enter. 3 I am the only one he punishes over and over again, without ever stopping. 4 God caused my skin and flesh to waste away, and he crushed my bones. 5 He attacked and surrounded me with hardships and trouble; 6 he forced me to sit in the dark like someone long dead. 7 God built a fence around me that I cannot climb over, and he chained me down. 8 Even when I shouted and prayed for help, he refused to listen. 9 God put big rocks in my way and made me follow a crooked path. 10 God was like a bear or a lion waiting in ambush for me; 11 he dragged me from the road, then tore me to shreds. 12 God took careful aim and shot his arrows 13 straight through my heart. 14 I am a joke to everyone– no one ever stops making fun of me. 15 God has turned my life sour. 16 He made me eat gravel and rubbed me in the dirt. 17 I cannot find peace or remember happiness. 18 I tell myself, “I am finished! I can’t count on the LORD to do anything for me.” 19 Just thinking of my troubles and my lonely wandering makes me miserable. 20 That’s all I ever think about, and I am depressed. 33 The Lord doesn’t enjoy sending grief or pain”.

Is that a story you can relate with? He said “Even when I shouted and prayed for help, he refused to listen” (verse 8). Can you see now that nothing that is happening to us today is new to God? He has seen it all. Others have gone through worse things but Good remains God.

Back to our scripture, something interesting happened to this man. In the midst of His blessed mess, he said something very beautiful to himself. He encouraged himself. He said in Lamentations 3:21-26 (CEV), “THEN I REMEMBER SOMETHING THAT FILLS ME WITH HOPE. 22 The LORD’s kindness never fails! If he had not been merciful, we would have been destroyed. 23 The LORD can always be trusted to show mercy each morning. 24 Deep in my heart I say, “The LORD is all I need; I can depend on him!” 25 The LORD is kind to everyone who trusts and obeys him. 26 It is good to wait patiently for the LORD to save us”.

In his situation, he remembered God’s mercy. He remembered God’s Word that was probably preached to Him and instead of him continuing to complain about God, he started testifying in the middle of His situation. He said in Lamentations 3:31-33, 38-39 (CEV), “The Lord won’t always reject us! 32 He causes a lot of suffering, but he also has pity because of his great love. 33 The Lord doesn’t enjoy sending grief or pain. 38 Good and bad each happen at the command of God Most High. 39 We’re still alive! We shouldn’t complain when we are being punished for our sins”.

Did you hear him say the Lord “causes a lot of suffering”? He didn’t end there, he also said, “but he also has pity because of his great love”. God loves you in that situation. Whatever that is happening to you is not there to kill you but for you to demonstrate your faith. We have examples of great men and women of God today who have passed through similar situation like yours and God is using their story to bring many to Him. Joyce Meyer went through a blessed mess but today she is doing great things for God.

That’s why one of the scriptures you referenced, Isaiah 43:1-3 says, in verse 2 (CEV), “When you cross DEEP RIVERS, I will be with you, and you won’t drown. When you WALK THROUGH FIRE, you won’t be burned or scorched by the flames”. This scripture never said you won’t pass through challenges, you will but God will be there with you to help you.

Anne, God is not the one that is trying to kill and destroy us, the devil is the one running rampage in our lives. But our victory is always assured if we do not give up. Our victory is assured if we can testify in the midst of our situations. Our victory is assured if we can remember HIS WORD and HIS saving Grace.

We might not agree on this because of the pain we have all been through individually and from our understanding of the scriptures but I know that our victory is assured.

      Be Blessed!
      Ali Papa.
