You’re Alive, Keep Fighting

Dear Someone,

This letter is for you. You that almost everything that could go wrong today, went wrong. You that just like everyone else, you have put yourself through enough for today already. You that’s tired, mentally, emotionally and physically — please, take care of yourself. Tomorrow is another day!

Thank God for the small victories and mercies. Count your blessings and not your problems. Strive towards your goal. Things maybe hard and painful right now, but it won’t be for long. You may have crawled back home today, beaten and defeated but don’t stay down. Tomorrow is another day! Make stories out of your heart break and don’t allow silence, depression or loneliness be your companion. Don’t watch your whole world fall apart while you stare blankly.

It doesn’t matter if you have hit rock bottom, stand up for yourself and fight a good fight of faith. You might be struggling but that doesn’t mean you have lost the fight. You are alive so keep fighting. Keep trying and that would be enough. If at first you don’t succeed, try again. Try even if you think you won’t make it past today, give yourself a chance. Don’t be afraid to start over, to try again, to re-calibrate. It doesn’t matter where life has kept you, it doesn’t matter what life has thrown at you, God has more in store for you. He never wants you to quit growing.

Your day might have been a day full of ups and downs but tomorrow is another day and another opportunity. Never give up on yourself and never regret a day in your life. Focus on positive thoughts and people. Do the best you can. Keep a smile. Take a deep breath — breath out and breath in and don’t be too sad. Disconnect if you have to but enjoy your own company. Tomorrow is another day to talk to the person you love, to learn something new and not to give up. If you do not have anyone to talk to, life goes on — talk to yourself and don’t allow the darkness of this world stop you from shining.

When the day is over, let it go. Don’t dwell on what you could’ve or should’ve done. Stop saying, “it wasn’t my day; It wasn’t my week; It wasn’t my month; It wasn’t my year”. Tell yourself, “Today is my day!” A bad day doesn’t mean you are going to have a bad life. A bad week doesn’t mean you are going to have a bad life. A bad month doesn’t mean you are going to have a bad life and a bad year doesn’t mean you are finished. Today is the day that the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it (Psalms 118:24). No matter what battles you see with your eyes and hear with your ears, you must be determined to live each moment by faith and refuse to be afraid because tomorrow is another day — another chance.

When you feel that you’re losing, please bear in mind that it is not the end, bear in mind that we all have difficult days. So have faith and remember that only two things can define you: Your patience when you have nothing, and your attitude when you have everything. Tomorrow is another day when you can aim for winning. If you had suicidal thoughts today and you had to drink lots of alcohol after work to suppress them, it’s fine. You have prevailed and tomorrow is another day to get stronger. Another day to make a win!

I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles. I also believe that there is someone out there for you. Life will always offer you a second chance — it’s called tomorrow. Make it great! Start all over again. Have a fresh start. It’s not over until it’s over. You are a fighter! Fight a good fight of faith.

In Him,
~Ali Papa.
