This letter is for you. You that’s saying yes to others but no to yourself. You that’s there for others but always leaving yourself behind. You that’s there for others but you have no motivation for saving yourself. You that’s in love with others for who they are but can’t love yourself for who you are. You that’s clapping for others but cannot clap for yourself. You that’s competing with others rather focusing on bettering yourself. You that’s breaking yourself trying to fix others. You that’s dumbing yourself down to match what others are doing. This letter is for you!
You that’s putting yourself down just to avoid criticism, you that’s putting yourself down to please others, or to show your “kindness”. You that worries too much about what others think, rather than focusing on yourself and staying positive. You that has forgotten that to be beautiful is to be yourself. You that’s looking for acceptance from others instead of accepting yourself. You that won’t stop waiting for an applause from others and learn instead how to clap for yourself. This letter is for you because it is unhealthy to do what you are doing to yourself.
Gandhi has said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” BUT it’s important that you don’t set yourself on fire to keep others warm. Be yourself and stop waiting for the approval of others. Be yourself. You will be happier. Be yourself and don’t be moved by the negative voices of those around you. They may call you a failure, but that wouldn’t make you a failure. They may call you poor, it doesn’t mean you’re poor. They may call you a “nobody” but that doesn’t make you a “nobody”. Everyone’s journey is different and the worst loneliness is not to be comfortable with yourself.
As a child of God, your success has nothing to do with the verdict or opinion of men. The only opinion that matters in life is God’s opinion of you. What He calls you is more important and let it be the name you answer. Don’t try to be a success in the minds of others. Don’t worry about what others think or say about you. God’s opinion of you are the ones that count for “…that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God” (Luke 16:15).
Take your life back! Go out there and love yourself. Go out there and cheer yourself up. Go out there and be yourself knowing that there are enough others. I pray that no plot, no conspiracy, no plan, and no activity of the devil will come against you. The plans of the wicked concerning you shall come to nothing.
