You’re Going To Be Okay

Dear Someone,

This letter is for you. You that need help but acting and looking a lot like you don’t need help. You that’s crying because it’s over, instead of smiling because it happened. You that have become so tired of this loneliness you are in. You that’s wondering why they won’t understand how much their words are hurting you. You that’s letting insecurity eat you. You that’s asking how to say goodbye to someone who isn’t exactly gone. You that was broken so beautifully that somehow everything and everyone else will forever be ugly to you. This letter is for you.

Take a deep breath knowing that you’re going to be okay. Take a deep breath knowing that this pain you feel is going to pass. It may not be this moment or today or tomorrow, but sometime soon. The hurt will fade. Don’t give up on God before things get better. You may be wounded, but you aren’t broken. God can and He will heal. Don’t be among those asking, “where is God?” God is not far from you and He will always remain your only help in that situation.

Life is full of give and take. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV) says, “In EVERY THING give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”. Give thanks and take nothing for granted.

Don’t give God thanks only when everything is going on well for you. Give Him thanks in every thing! Give Him thanks for those who hated you, because they only made you a stronger person. Give Him thanks for those who loved you, for they made your heart grow fonder. Thank Him for those who envied you, they made your self-esteem increase. Thank Him for those who cared and made you feel important. Thank Him for those who entered your life, and made you who you are today. Thank Him for those who left, they showed you that nothing lasts forever. Thank Him for those who stayed, they showed you the true meaning of friendship.

Give God thanks and say yes to love again irrespective of how broken you are. Don’t allow those painful moments to define you. Don’t allow them to shape you. Don’t allow them to determine who you are or will become — only God can do that. Take that chance because you deserve a love that heals you. Leave behind your fears and start running towards the thing that scares you. And maybe, this is a letter for me also: I needed to write it. Until tomorrow!

Be blessed!

In Him,
~Ali Papa.
