This letter is for you. You that’s not okay, but good at pretending that you are. You that’s done emotionally, drained mentally but smiling physically. You that’s tired but still fighting. You that’s always hanging on to the hope that things will get better. You that have lost count of the smiles you have faked. You that’s in pain and doesn’t know what to feel anymore. You that’s afraid to fall for the wrong person again. You that’s always prepared for goodbyes because that’s all you’ve ever known. You that was pushed to the point where you no longer cares, this letter is for you.
Commit to loving yourself…
In a world full of hate and self destruction, be yourself and be kind to yourself. Leave behind the things that are not making you happy, the obligations you think you have to attend to, the people you are afraid to let down. Leave behind the guilt you feel for choosing what you want even if it doesn’t align with other people’s wishes. Always remember that if everyone likes what you are doing then you are probably doing it wrong.
Don’t look back…
You that found this letter of hope, I understand your pain and what you are going through. It is a lonely feeling when someone you care about becomes a stranger. I have lived there for seven years but one thing is certain, when one door closes another opens. You might not be worth it to someone. You might not be enough for someone. But be worth it to yourself. Be enough for yourself. Irrespective of how feel today, don’t wander away from yourself to get close to someone else.
I want you to know that it’s okay to be at a place of struggle but rest knowing that time heals. Rest knowing that all things are working together for your good. That heartbreak won’t last forever. That situation has an expiry date. Things that needed to happen will happen. Turns that need to be made will take place. Wherever you have blocked them with your own mouth; wherever you have not been open or missed it, say to Him, “Lord, I repent!”. God will hear you and He will silence the storms. His burden is light and His yoke is easy – comfortable, gracious, and pleasant (Mat. 11:30). May He give you the grace to endure and the faith to believe that He is not finished with you yet!
