You’re Not Forgotten

Dear Someone,

This letter is for you, you that doesn’t understand half the stuff that God has put you through. You that is wondering and asking if you are in this mess because you haven’t been faithful? You that’s wondering if your faith has wavered? You that’s studying His Word but still wondering why things are not turning out right. You that’s experiencing unfulfilled longings, unrequited initiatives, unanswered prayers, unrealized aspirations, deferred hopes, and incomplete understandings to your situation.

If I could tell you one thing today, it would be: Don’t base your happiness upon what you have or don’t have. Enjoy your life and Good or bad, trust God. Be encouraged and be strengthened. Struggles will come your way in different shapes and sizes but don’t lose hope. Stand firm and trust God in that situation. Trust Him in that marriage and on that job — He is your stronghold. If you’re in a blessed mess today, trust Him for your times — they are in His hands. He might have allowed you to get BENT by your circumstances, but He will NEVER let you BREAK.

Whatever sadness you face today, be encouraged because God can exchange that sadness for joy! God can restore what should have been yours in abundance. He is a God of restoration who can use your mistakes for ministry. He said in Isaiah 43:18-19 (MSG), “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. 19 Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands”.

God has seen you and He will hear you. He has seen you in that desert — He will make a way. So stop comparing yourself to the next person and be happy where you are at in your life. God puts people on different paths which means we are all in different places in our lives. You are not forgotten in that situation and God’s not finished with you. He said in Psalms 32:8, “I will lead you along the best path for your life.”

Today, if your path is becoming too crowded, it’s okay to walk your path alone if necessary. It’s okay to go on your path even if you live for a day. If you think you are in the wrong path because you have hurt yourself, went back to people, situations and old habits, don’t be so hard on yourself. Ask God to see if there is any path of pain you’re walking on, so that He can lead you back to His glorious, everlasting ways — the path that brings you back to Him (Psalms 139:24).

Until tomorrow, keep trusting God for the fruit of the womb. Keep trusting Him for a suitable partner. Keep trusting God for that dream to come to pass. Keep waiting on Him to meet the right person. Keep waiting for that problem to turn around because your times, my times, our times are in His hands (Psalm 31:15). Keep trusting God knowing that what you’ve endured has qualified you for the next level and fortified you against the attack of the enemy. I pray for your head to be lifted, your step to lightened, and your path to be made clear. May God bring you back to where you belong and may He bring you back to a place of rest where you will recover and flourish.

In Him,
~Ali Papa.
