Life Is For The Living

Dear Someone,

Life might have done nothing more than let you down, you that was hoping that by now you would have been married and settled down. Life might have done nothing, but continue to be dull for you, you that is struggling to make ends meet.

Life might have done nothing, but make you feel like you are alone and worthless, you that is unappreciated and miserable in your relationship or marriage. Life might have done nothing, but treat you badly, you that was betrayed but the very person you trusted the most.

Life might have done nothing, but tear and keep you down, you that is battling with health challenges. Life might have done nothing, but disappoint you, you that was rejected, abandoned and left with many questions without answers.

Whatever it is you think life might have dealt you in this season of your life, I want you to know that if you will “Stay with God! Take heart.” and,” Don’t quit” — Psalm 27:14 (MSG), and if you will put your “blessed mess” in His hands, you will come to realize that life has done nothing to you that God can’t make work out for you. Life has done nothing to you that won’t work together for your good.

God didn’t deliver Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from the fire. He delivered them through the fire. No matter how difficult things may seem for you today, God has a plan to bring you out into a place of victory. No matter what you may be facing, no matter what trial you may be going through, God has a plan to turn things around in your favour.

Don’t ruin your life because of anger and frustration at the things thrown at you. Don’t beg anyone to be in your life even if they are all that you have ever wanted and prayed for. Don’t let social media dictate your life and don’t let your circumstances cause you to start seeing yourself as a failure. No matter what is happening in your life right now, be encouraged today because you have a chance for a new beginning.

As you read this letter and as you reflect on this past year, list at least five things you want God to do for you. Pray over them and when you are done praying, put your shoes back on and run at your own pace. As you stay the course and on purpose, watch your steps, but don’t quit. Just run knowing that God is with you.

You may have had an unfair past, an unfair partner in that relationship, BUT your future is bright. Your best days are still ahead of you. You may not be where you want to be right now but remember, God is at work in your life. He doesn’t want you to live in the past. He wants you to keep growing and moving forward. So work hard, but don’t break yourself for His Grace is sufficient for you and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Cor. 12:9).

Until tomorrow, don’t allow anyone to talk you out of your blessings and don’t allow your future to be defined by your past. That is why it’s your past. Let go of yesterday. Let go of that regret and everything that’s making you cry. This is your day now and I don’t care who or what was against you yesterday. Today, God is still for you!

Be encouraged,
~Ali Papa.
